Is checking a license free?

Yes. Anyone can check a counselor's license status at no cost, at any time. Full license details are available separately for a one-time fee of $5.

What do the statuses mean?

Valid means the license is current. Expired means it has passed its end date, suspended means it is temporarily on hold, and revoked means it has been withdrawn.

What do I need to run a search?

A license number, or the holder's full name (first and last). You can add the country and state to narrow results.
